While completing her Master of Business Administration in sustainable business practices, Cara Mia Manzella had the opportunity to consult for Omnicell. Inspired by the company’s purpose and impact, she joined Omnicell immediately after graduate school as the ESG program administrator.

Today, Manzella is manager of the ESG program, leading the execution of Omnicell’s ESG strategy, developing the annual ESG report, benchmarking best-in-class methods and future trends, and emphasizing data quality and collection.

When she’s not finding a better way forward at Omnicell, Manzella creates original paintings and donates a portion of the proceeds to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

What is your current role and what makes it exciting for you?

“Currently, I manage our ESG Program, and I also oversee our charitable efforts. This role is rewarding because I am able to have an impact from a strategic level— it is a long-term path forward for the organization to leverage responsible business practices to help drive Omnicell’s future of success. It’s a thrill to be working for a company with such a great cause that also prioritizes doing the right thing— one of our core values here at Omnicell. It is also exciting to be able to keep up with the interests and expectations of stakeholders from both internal and external stances.”

What do you appreciate most about working with your colleagues?

“I really love the different teams and individuals that I work with at Omnicell. I think it’s such a great group of people and it’s imperative to recognize how much of an impact it has on employee satisfaction. I enjoy the collaborative culture and how in my role I am encouraged to internally network to build my list of professional contacts. I admire how I am encouraged to understand what different teams are doing and how we can support another along the way. It has been a real pleasure working with likeminded individuals here.”

What do you think sets Omnicell apart from other organizations in the industry?

“Omnicell has such a great cause for improving health outcomes. Our CEO and founder, Randy’s story about this organization is also truly one of the most inspiring with how this started from him and his daughter. It gives much more of a real and ‘at home’ feel so you feel a part of it from the very start. It is inherent in the business what Omnicell is for— to eliminate health errors and work to be entrepreneurial while also thinking outside the box.”

Manzella and other members of the Omnicell team accepted the 2025 John V. Heher Humanitarian Award from the National Kidney Foundation.
