At Omnicell, our culture of care isn’t just a philosophy, since day one it has been the drive force behind how we support each other, serve our customers and stay focused on what matters most— improving healthcare.

Emilia Neto, Senior Quality Safety Risk Manager, demonstrates this every day in the role she plays at Omnicell, priding herself in leading with care and innovating with impact. She never imagined her journey would lead to healthcare technology, but after joining Omnicell six years ago, she found herself immersed in a mission she connected with deeply. With a background in biomedical engineering and a heart for patient advocacy, Emilia stepped into the Quality Department and quickly saw how her technical expertise could drive real impact. Now serving as Senior Quality Safety Risk Manager, she plays a key role in ensuring that risks are identified and managed to support medication safety in hospitals nationwide.

“I didn’t plan this path—but it was meant to happen,” she said.

What leadership skills have been most valuable in your role as a senior quality safety risk manager?

“I think the most important thing is effective communication— I work with so many different people and teams including engineering, clinical, and product management. We often come together to discuss complex issues that require balancing different perspectives, and finding common ground in is essential. Without strong communication skills, reaching agreement and moving forward would be much harder. Collaboration across teams is equally important, as it allows us to work through challenges together and make better decisions.”

How has Omnicell helped you grow as a leader and develop your career?

“Omnicell gave me the opportunity to learn as I grew in my role— I have been supported by my teams and managers, which allowed me to develop new skills with confidence. That sense of trust and encouragement from leadership has been invaluable— it creates an environment where you feel empowered and truly welcome, no matter what stage of your career you are in.”

What motivates you most in working as a senior quality safety risk manager and what inspires you about Omnicell’s mission?

“I admire the fact that I am constantly working and meeting with different people within this role. I enjoy everyone I work with daily and the things we can accomplish, no matter how big or small it may be. This has become a very important factor in my role. While I may not meet with each person physically every day due to the region or time zones they are in— I’m based in Italy— I still feel connected to them in more ways than none. In terms of Omnicell’s mission, the products we make and the vision for where we want to go as a company makes me feel proud of being a part of it.”

What advice would you give to someone who is considering a career in pharmacy technology or risk management?

“Anyone wanting to get into these types of roles or industries and has the passion for it should go for it. Once you begin doing this type of work, your passion for it will continue to grow, you will develop new skills, find where you truly fit, and you will start to see things from a different perspective.”
